From what I understand, if you go that route, you don't install the Nvidia drivers from the Ubuntu settings you use the ones included in the Bumblebee install, but I'd check for yourself first. That'll give you Optimus-like support, so Ubuntu will use the integrated Intel graphics hardware normally, then you use 'optirun ' in the terminal to start a program using your Nvidia card. Once those are installed, you don't need 'nomodeset' anymore.īut since you're on a laptop, it might be better to use Bumblebee.
